President Christie King called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

President King mentioned that this is her 70th birthday and that she is a 10 year cancer survivor, so every birthday is very special to her.  Also mentioned that her husband, Irwin, brought cupcakes for everyone.

Since the last meeting we had two outings.  One to Valdosta hosted by the Seamans and Rhotons and one to Pine Mountain, Ga.  hosted by the Schefflers and Sandys. 

MINUTES  - March minutes were read  and accepted.

TREASUTER’S REPORT  The financial report was presented by Sandee Gill and approved as follows:

Opening Balance                        $4,706.58

Income                                          962.00

Expenses                                       481.40

Ending Balance                         $5,187.18

SUNSHINE REPORT  Christie King reported that our sunshine person, Joyce Armstrong is in the hospital.  Information is sketchy since hospital staff will only speak to family members.  Get well cards were sent to Amdrea Creamer and Joyce Armstrong.

Today’s speaker is Tim  Donovan from Camping World  in Ocala.  He has been with Camping World for ten years.  Camping World bought out Suncoast RV and they offer sales, service and they now have a mini store.  Plan to have a full size store by the end of September.  If you see anything in their  catalog, they can have it delivered to  their store in about one week.   

RALLY COORDINATOR  REPORT  Carol Powell said there is some pancake mix and syrup from a previous rally that is available to anyone who wants to cook at their meeting.  See Carol or Jerry Seaman if you are interested.

When you host a rally, be sure to get a packet to Carol so she can have it on file.  This helps if someone else wants to hold a rally in the same general area.  Also, be sure to return the club banner to Carol so she can pass it on to the next wagon master.

Please obey the campground rules regarding dogs.  Keep your pets on a leash and keep them out of restricted areas. 

Not much going on this summer or fall.  Would like to see some trips on the schedule.

Fred Bryant - Hudson Dinner Theater.  Has had two cancellations.  Let him know if you know anyone who would like to attend.

Linda Jaworski  - St. Augustine trip is ready to go.  Please pick up your packets.

Frank Smith - Tarpon Springs - There will be a $20.00 rally fee.  Camp fee is $17.50 per night.  Will have several meals out.  Also arranging a private sponge diving expo and a private tour of St. Nicholas Church.  Combined cost will be $7.00

Mark Hulbert - RV Picnic.   We have about 250 people attending and still have a couple of tickets available.  Picnic will begin at 1:00 pm.  Mark has a printed schedule if anyone is interested.  Also reminded people to bring their chairs and drinks. Brett Howard  talked about parking - park on the west side of the facility. 

Irwin King - Dunedin - Has three slots left.  First night will have hot dogs and hamburgers.  Going on  a sunset dinner cruise that will be $36.50 per person.  The last night we will go to Ozona Blue Restaurant for dinner.

John Cormier - Sarasota packets are ready. 

John Cormier - Key West Fantasy Fest - The KOA  Campground is filling up fast.  If you have not called yet, please make your reservations now.  Do not call central reservation- call the  local campground number.

Mike Maino - Coastal GA/ Bike and Beaches - trip is full.  Ten people with bikes and 15 others. 

Len Holdsworth - 11 Night Southern Caribbean Cruise - Have four reservations so far and would like to get a total of eight.

Gary Adams - he is hosting a Safari group in The Villages.  They are parking at the Belk Store parking lot.  Stop by and say hello if you are in the area.

Christie King - Joyce Armstrong Golf Tournament - May 20th at Pimlico and Chruchill  golf courses.  Will have a boxed lunch provided by Too Jays.  Still have openings.  Can play golf and have lunch or just have lunch. 

Ten new members were introduced and give RV Club koozies.

50/50 DRAWING  Three drawings - two for $45.00 and one for $40.00.

MARCH 9, 2012

President Christie King called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Christie King thanked Ron Collins for making coffee for our meetings and Joe Humphrey for making name tags and tickets.

We now have host tags.  These will be worn by volunteers who will take new members and introduce them to the  club - sign ups, name tags, merchandise, etc.

Anyone who has not paid their membership dues for 2012 by the end of March will be dropped from the membership list.

Treasurers Report. The financial report was presented by Sandee Gill and approved as follows:

Sunshine Report  Joyce Armstrong  sent a sympathy card to Bill Creekmur and get well cards to Sonya Davis, Bruce Collins, Paul Everett and Al Spinks.

Brett Howard from Alliance Coach was our speaker.  Said how happy they are to be  part of our annual picnic.  They plan to have coach display - someone on hand to take RV related questions - the RV store will be open.  Brett introduced key members of his staff and said he has two units in the parking lot and hopes everyone will take a minute to tour the RV’s.  Had drawings for gift certificates and hats. 

Rally Coordinators Report  Carol Powell reported we have upcoming trips May 22-24 to Dunedin.  Sign ups  will be in April.  Also in June a trip is planned for Dade City with sign ups in April.

Wanted to know if anyone would like to host a trip to Daytona Beach.  This is the Good Sam Rally.  See Carol if you are interested.

Also looking for hosts for a trip to Wakiva Falls in November.  All the work has been done - just need hosts and co-hosts. 

Asked if there was any interest in going on a trip to Gettysburg, Pa.  for the Civil War Anniversary in the summer of 2013.  She will present more information at a later date.

Also asked if there was any interest in attending a military family only out.  Again, will discuss at a later date.

Invited anyone interested in learning how to host a rally to come to an informal meeting at her house on March 22nd at 6:30 pm.

FMCA has a discount program with Michelin Tire Company.  Call your local dealer and ask if they participate.  Can save as much as $100.00 per tire.

Carol then introduced current rally hosts.

Dick Scheffler -  Calloway Gardens - has two openings due to cancellations.

Mark Hulbert - RV Picnic.  Has sold all 200 tickets, but is having more printed.  Contact him if you are interested in attending.  Bring your  own chairs and drinks.  Any crafters can contact Becky Hulbert if they wish to set up a table.

her if you are interested.

Bike and Beach is full - get on the wait list if you are interested.

Len Holdsworth - 2013 Cruise – has 5 more cabins available

Christie King - Dunedin - May 20.  Sign ups at the April meeting.  Sign ups today for the Joyce Armstrong Golf Outing.  Golf and a box lunch from Too Jays is $9.00 per person.  Lunch only is $6.00 per person.

Nine new members were introduced and given  RV Club koozies.

FEBRUARY 10, 2012

President Christie King called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.  President King introduced the staff of Mulberry Recreation Center and thanked them for all they do for our club.  She then presented them with a box of chocolates.

Christie thanked the picnic committee- Mark and Becky Hulbert, Jim and Claudia Basener, Dick and Madge Scheffler, Jo Spinks, and Bill and Barb Fabeck.    Tickets are on sale at the back of the room.

Since the last meeting we had trips to Manatee Springs, Homasassa and the FMCA Rally at Brooksville.

We will have sign ups at the next meeting for the Joyce Armstrong Golf Outing.   Will be May 20th with sandwiches to follow.

Secretary’s Report   Abbreviated minutes for the January 13, 2012 meeting were read and approved.

Rally Coordinators Report   Carol Powell again introduced the Rally Coordinators Committee so people will become familiar with them and approach them if they have questions about how to hold a rally.  Also asked Dick and Madge Scheffler to stand up and be recognized since she neglected to introduce them last month.

Have a new feature at the back of the room called “Put in Gear”.  It is there to help people put on a rally.  There are road tested trips with packets and all the information anyone would need to do a rally.  Carol invited anyone who is interested in doing a rally to attend a seminar at her home on March 22nd.

Reminded wagon masters that if they want to post a trip on the web page, they must submit it through Carol, not directly to the web master.

Rally Masters came forward to report the status of their trips.  Linda Jarwoski, St. Augustine, April 23 to 27.  Dick Scheffler, Callaway Gardens, March 19 to 24.  Fred Bryant,   Hudson Dinner Theater, April 19 to 22.  John Cormier, Sarasota, April 22 to 26.  John Pope, Key West, October 24 to 28.  Mark Hulbert, RV Picnic April 15th - 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Alliance Motor Coach.   Will have three seminars - one on RV leaks, one on tires and one on Florida winterization.  Will have a scavenger hunt and music with Dick Steeves.  The RV store at Alliance will be open.   Oakwood  will be providing the food.  Have room for at least 200 members. You must bring your own chairs and BYOB.   Cost is $5.00 per person and tickets are available at the back of the room. Len Holdsworth is doing an 11 day Southern Caribbean cruise next February.

GUEST SPEAKER  Howard Ford reported that our speaker for today from Pilot backed out yesterday. 

NEW MEMBERS   Seven new members were registered and received RV Club koozies.

JANUARY 13, 2012  

President Christie King called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. with a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.. President King introduced new board members for 2012. Mentioned that Vice President Howard Ford takes care of the Mulberry room set up and also helps solicit speakers for our meetings.

Recently had two trips to Lazy Days. One on New Years hosted by Claudia and Jim Basener and one hosted by the Hulberts and Edwards. This trip included tours of museums in Tampa.

Fantasy Tours set up a table in the back of the room. They have a new catalogue and will be happy to answer any questions you have about their RV tours.

Ending Balance of $3800.23

Christie King noted that we had a beginning balance last year of $997.17. Also noted that Al Rhoton and Paul Everett conducted an audit of our financial records for 2011 and everything looks OK.

Rally Coordinator Report: Carol Powell thanked the hosts of the December meets. Noted that our schedule is slim after the April meets. There are forms on the web site that give you a guideline on how to host a meet. If you have some ideas for a meet talk to one of the rally committee members and they will give you some guidance. Potential meeting to consider - Blue Grass Festival February 16,17,and 18. FMCA Southeast Area Rally - Feb 1st through Feb 5th. Eustis - Bay Theater Players. Thanks to Don Crosby for taking the time and effort to revise our Rally web page.

Mark Hulbert - Annual RV Picnic will be April 15th. Barb and Bill Fabeck and Jim and Claudia Basaner volunteered to help Mark.

Maxine Bryant - Hudson Dinner Theatre - April 19-21. If you signed up - make your reservations with the campground.

Coastal Bike and Beach outing in Georgia. April 22-26. Still have some openings.

Guest Speaker Ed Hosegood, a professional truck driver. He has worked for Publix Supermarket for 30 years and has driven 1.8 million miles accident free. As a professional driver, he goes around the country talking about safe driving. Also goes to high schools and talks to teens before they get their licenses. Reminded us about the move-over law in Florida. If you come upon an emergency vehicle you need to move over to the passing lane. If that is not possible, you need to lower your speed to 20 miles below the posted speed limit. Brought a semi-truck to the lot and invited every to come out and sit in the driver’s seat to experience first hand the blind spots that truck drivers have to deal with.

New Members 5 new members were introduced.

50/50 Drawing Had three drawings - one for $30 - one of $25 and one for $20. Also had a drawing for two Lazy Days Gift Certificates that Claudia Basener brought back from the New Year’s trip.
