HomeSpecialsOrange Blossom Specials are a high performance team of dancers, here are a just few of them.
We use a combination of old, new and home made calls to generate patterns that interest our audience. Our costumes are special in that each of our squares are colored, for example red, green and blue. As we dance through our routines our red square people move into the green square while the greens move to the blues and the blues to the reds. We almost always dance our way back to the right color square and get a very big hand from our enthusiastic viewers. We perform for a variety of social clubs in and around The Villages. Members of Specials are drawn from the ranks of the Orange Blossom Square Dance Club. In addition to our performances, we also provide entertainment at assisted living and nursing homes and are met with glee by our audience. See our Schedule of Performances.
Our group is made up of 18 couples and we meet weekly to rehearse our routines. Fridays, at noon time you will find us at Paradise Recreation Center for our rehearsal in casual street cloths.
